Quinn has left trail of broken families

IN MY experience, successful entrepreneurs and millionaires tend to turn to Tony Quinn to resolve issues (Quinn’s mind games given credit for oil strike in Belize, News, last week). Instead of getting a handle on the issues, they often lose direction and focus in their own area of competence. Quinn is the only person to benefit.

I have become aware of this through the families of some, who come seeking help, or from employees who see the effects of mental manipulation.

Some people, who have spent up to €100,000 on Quinn’s courses, go on to invest in this oil exploration company because they believe he is the source of its success. I would suggest that the business and entrepreneurial skills these people had were undermined rather than enhanced by what Quinn’s courses have to offer.

Shares can rise and fall, but seminars that leave a trail of broken families, marriages and debt need to be addressed.

It is time Ireland followed the example of Belgium and France and enacted laws to bring these practices to an end.

On page six of the Sunday Times April 9, 2006 Enda Leahy, writes how "Quinn's mind games given credit for oil strike in Belize."

Dialogue Ireland has known about this oil exploration for over two years. The following quote suggests that I had given an interview to Enda Leahy, but in fact it was taken from our web site.

"Complaints about Quinn’s techniques have come from the likes of Dialogue Ireland, a cult watchdog, which says seminars in the Bahamas costing €18,500 are proof of the 'idiot effect' — 'the phenomenon of entrepreneurs losing the plot and direction in life when they pay inflated prices for courses available for a few euros in a paperback'".

It is interesting to note that this article ran in the Irish edition and the British sections of the Sunday Times indicating what we have been saying for a few years now, Tony Quinn is going international.

Basically it my experience over a number of years that entrepreneurs who are already successful and millionaires turn to Quinn to resolve some issue they have. Instead of getting a handle on issues through involvement with Quinn they often lose direction and focus in their area of competence. He is the only person to benefit, and acts as a drain on their resources. I have become aware of this through their families who come seeking help or from employees who see the effects of alleged mental manipulation.

Some people who have spent up to €100,000 in courses go onto invest in this oil exploration company because they believe guru Tony is the source of its success. *The fact that this company claims to have had a successful hit in discovering oil is attributed to Tony Quinn should itself be cause for concern*. I would rather suggest it is that in this case the latent business and entreprenurial skills these people had before receiving the conditioning Quinn's courses offer undermined its effects, rather than the other way round.

Shares can rise and fall, but the abuse of now thousands of Irish people by unethical seminars which have left a trail of broken families, marriages and debt needs to be addressed.

It is high time that Ireland followed the example of Belgium and France and enacted laws to bring these practices to an end.
