Mike Garde, the director of Dialogue Ireland heard from the Gardaí from Mountjoy on Friday 15 July that the Director of Public Prosecutions, (DPP) had decided against proceeding against Gerard Ryan from the Church of Scientology for criminal libel following his leaflet and subsequent correspondence which linked Mike Garde with racism, a drugs cartel and a paedophile priest. This was originally released in 1999 and was sent to a number of schools around Ireland and a number of individuals. It is NOT within the statute of limitations in that Mr Ryan has continued to release these documents as late as two years ago.

Mike Garde will take advice from a number of sources before making a decision about taking a case for civil libel.
